Introducing the IPDS Team Marcel Fernando Schaerer is the President of International Professional Development Services (IPDS, L.L.C.). He is recognized as a leading authority on workplace language training and Latino/Hispanic cultural issues impacting communication in the workplace. He comes with impressive credentials, having worked as a trainer and consultant for many companies throughout the States of California and Nevada. With more than 20 years in education and training, Marcel Fernando offers expertise in a wide variety of workforce training and professional enrichment topics—including enhancing communication skills for customer service, workplace visual communication and supervisory skills development. His solid background in these areas emanates from his varied work experience. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Karla Águila Sullivan is the Marketing/Training Specialist for IPDS. She is pursing her degree at UNR in Secondary Education, with a specialty in Spanish and ESL (English as a Second Language). Through IPDS she has gained much experience in the human resources development field by working with adults in the workplace. She has helped develop and implement language training programs with a cultural focus in mind. Her diverse background experience has been beneficial in applying pedagogical practices into workplace training for a diverse audience.
Raquel Martinez Raquel R. Martinez is the office manager and task coordinator for International Professional Development Services (IPDS). Ms. Martinez has an Associate of Arts degree in general studies with a concentration in Business Management from Truckee Meadows Community College. She also has teaching credentials from the State of California. In her professional career, Ms. Martinez assisted with the development and implementation of a curriculum for multicultural groups for a cosmetology school, as well as with conflict resolution programs for public middle schools in Salinas, California, where she grew up and attended college pursuing a degree in child development. Ms. Martinez has worked in management for 20 years, primarily in the beauty industry and the last six years in the hospitality industry. She has worked with youth groups - planning, coordinating, and managing their projects. Ms. Martinez’ multicultural background and bilingual capability put her in a unique position to contribute to the effectiveness of IPDS’ training programs.
